I’m sure being the hometown kid put enormous pressure on his shoulders, but winning the MVP at such a young age added ungodly pressure on him to deliver a championship to Chicago. And I think that hometown pressure made him feel like he still needed to be THE guy on his team after coming back from all of his injuries, even after Jimmy Butler became the best player on his team.

There were so many games this season when I would scratch my head looking at boxscores of Rose shooting 7/22 and bricking 7–8 3’s while Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol would only get 10–12 shots. He could never fully adapt his game to be a more pass-first PG.
