IMO, the main problem with “indy style” wrestling is the rigors of the WWE schedule. It’s one thing if wrestlers flew around and performed high spots once a month for PPVs. But they’re doing it every week on TV, plus house shows.

I wouldn’t mind seeing wrestlers strongly encouraged to scale it back, saving those suicide dives and their best jaw dropping spots for PPVs and championship matches. That would make those moments feel even more special.

Taking a page from Stone Cold Steve Austin, bring back the art of selling, and protecting finishers.

And as David Shoemaker suggested on previous website and wrestling podcast that shall not be named, wrestlers would benefit from an off-season where they’re required to take 2 months off heal/recharge.
