GPT 4.5: The Multimodal Next Step (Leak)
It just leaked online (apparently from an OpenAI employee) the possibility of a new version of GPT coming GPT 4.5 still on this month or earlier january.
Jimmy Apples — our known AI seer — also predicted this in earlier this month.
This new modal is promised to be a multimodal one with generations of text, audio, vision video and 3d. We are also promised more complex reasoning and understanding in between modalities.
We also have a price increase of course (we are happy for five seconds with GPT 4.5 turbo being more affordable).
Now, this is huge, a model with all these modalities in one plus GPT4 LLM makes a lot of possibilities open before are ways of creating content and solutions never before considered.
Trying to interpret the image above leaked it seems we have a base model with text/image/video/3d with a limited context window not specified, the same model with a 64K context window and lastly the complete multimodal model with audio and speech joining the generations.
I really hope this advanced reasoning will be also made available in GPT 4.5 Turbo without the extra modalities but I fear it would be like this. In this case I personally would like a cheaper base model without video and 3d to be able to run complex tasks.
