Ways to address my weaknesses:

Confidence — with regards to improving my confidence my internship with ASOS and the praise I got from the team during my time there definitely helped my confidence. It showed me that I can and am capable of working within the industry. My confidence still has a long way to go, but I do think its improving. I was very shy as a child and although nowadays I’m more confident within familiar teritories and with people I know, improvement is definitely still needed. I’m hoping the requirements of the course this year will assist me with this.

Adobe creative skills — Practice makes perfect!

Presentation skills — This is also linked to my confidence issues, but again practice makes perfect. My dad has lent me a small book ‘presenting yourself with impact’ he has read this as part of his professional development and recommended it to me.

Innovation — Whilst I believe my work is creative, I do usually take a lot of inspiration from exiting ideas. I need to break down my inspiration more and try and search for new ways to approach my ideas in order to create something new and original. Innovation is a key part of the final major project, this therefore makes addressing this weakness all the more important.

Networking — If I feel comfortable in a situation I can be very confident with speak to people I know and networking with others, but if I don’t feel comfortable in my surroundings I’m usually very quiet . I need to get out of my comfort zone more often and push myself to change this.

Using my strengths for my final major project:

Time management and punctuality will help me a lot with my final major project. Time management will help me ensure that my time is used effectively and punctuality will ensure that work is complete ideally before or definitely for deadlines.

My strengths with organisation will benefit me throughout the final major project, from briefing to hand in, organisation will be key to creating a successful piece of work and I’m happy it is a skill of mine.

Teamwork won’t be directly helpful to my work individually for the final major project, it will be useful when critiquing my peers and sharing ideas though.

I might be able to use my networking skills to help me with sourcing talent to help me with areas of my work where I lack ability. Photographers or graphic designers for example would be able to make my ideas a reality.

Ultimately I will use my creative skills to make my project as interesting verbally and stimulating visually as possible. I’m very aware that my work at this stage of the course needs to be professionally creative to for-fill the requirements of third year.
