The hysterical and strident tone of this article has me scratching my head. I didn’t realize there are people losing sleep over the popularity of aloe vera. Furthermore, as someone who has used aloe vera, I resent being called an idiot in some many words by someone who puts forth an argument that misses the point. Aloe is meant to soothe, and soothe it does, not necessarily by containing medicinal ingredients, but by imparting a feeling of wetness, and thereby coolness to the skin. There used to be a product on the market called Solarcaine — maybe it’s still out there — and it essentially did the same thing.
