This article is about Eckhart Tolle’s advice that makes no sense at all.

The truth is that most of his teachings are good, and you can profit from them. But his main teaching, the jewel of the crown, it’s total nonsense.

I’m talking about this piece of advice:

You have to try to achieve a gap of no-mind. In other words, a gap of time where your mind isn’t thinking at all. To do this, you have to be in the present moment as long as you can, disidentifying from your thoughts.

This advice can’t be applied in real life; it’s useless.

Here’s why.

The Source of Pain

Eckhart’s teachings are based on the mind.

The mind and the constant thought process are the reason for pain and sadness, mostly because you don’t have the tools to control them. He says that as long as you are identified with your mind, the pain and the thoughts will never end.

I agree with this.

If your mind says that you want to be a millionaire, it will invade you with thoughts and pain to move you in the right direction. You are identified as being a millionaire, so suddenly, your…
