Control: I am Zerg

I am zerg. I, Dalton Lewis, am a zerg. I know, I know — there’s no such thing. That doesn’t matter; it doesn’t change my opinion at all. I am a zerg because I love playing Starcraft 2 as zerg so damned much. I love the idea of a hive mind — of having people always connected to you. And let’s face it, it’s fun to look monstrous to people and scare them. It’s almost as much fun as being attractive.

Zerg are great. They win tournaments all the time — people win tournaments regularly as zerg. They dominate. They build lots of bases. They build lots of units. They have an aggressive, building and swarming strategy that works very well.

I am back playing Starcraft 2. I play like crazy trying to get better. I’m in various gold leagues, a little bit below .500. I am 7–10 at protoss and about 15–18 as terran. I am playing hard and trying to master the current meta. I have been watching games as well.

I sit in my room, playing games. I build a lot of workers, and my opponents attack me immediately. I build units immediately and I get behind economically.

I think that no one has understood how good esports are. I am watcching reruns of yesterday’s IEM Shanghai. Excellent games are being played.

I sit in my room, as always. I connect to people from this room. I have adventures online from this room. I read in this room. Zerg don’t do that. They get out of the home and make things happen. Maybe I should act more like a zerg and expand and grow and build.

Thanks, and take care, friends.
