Wrapping up one year at IBM

Friday was my last day at IBM after one exciting year. Many days going through the day to day felt like inch-wise progress, but as I looked back, much did get accomplished in a such a short period of time. A few things that I’m most proud of during my time:
- Working on customer journey mapping and setting key metrics for a cloud e-Discovery product in legaltech, and setting high standards for design-product management collaboration that impacted user research and product strategy.
2. Playing a leading part in the transformation to increase digital consumability for several offerings as part of CEO Ginni Rometty’s strategic imperatives:
- SPSS Statistics launched as a subscription from a perpetual model, having reduced the customer journey from 140+ web entry points to a unified buyer flow, and creating the current and future buying experience. Redesigned and coded the updated SPSS Support page.
- Db2 Developer Community Edition launched as a fully-featured, non-expiring and non-production use Db2 accessible for free to developers.
- IBM Information Governance Catalog Trial launched as a downloadable that included demo content and product walkthrough.
Previously, access to IBM’s offerings have required a lengthy, complex process. Now, with Db2 Developer Community and IGC Trial buyers and users will be able to download, install, and get started in minutes. Including marketing and support, this has been a significant accomplishment beyond the core product development team. It’s laying the groundwork for future growth.
Through the process, the transformation will accelerate having broken through many silos in the organization and increase collaboration. I will miss the great times with my teammates, and am very grateful to leadership to have had such an opportunity to touch on so many areas.
