100 Days of Code: Day 4 (Part 2)

Simple styles added. Scrollbar style only works in Chrome though but it’s a nice change.

So I got a burst of energy tonight and went ahead and styled my Technical Document page. I knew I didn’t want to keep the black/white/grey styles, but I also didn’t want to go overboard with a lot of colors.

So I decided to go with something basic and went with the Bootstrap “info” styles for the menu, leaving the styles for the content area as they were. I did play around with some colors for the code areas, but since that’s the part that will get the most attention on the site (it’s the part that shows you how to actually write the code, so yeah…didn’t really want to mess with that area too much), I decided to leave it as is since the contrast works well and the code is easy to read/understand.

I did finally learn how to style the scrollbar on the site, and went with light blue for the regular scrollbar, white for the scrollbar track, and dark blue for the hover/active state of the scrollbar. I think this turned out really well! You can only see the styles in Chrome, but at least I know how to do it for future projects.

And with that, my project is complete! As soon as I finish this post, I’ll turn in my work and move on to the portfolio site. I doubt I’ll have to do too much to my portfolio site, but I’ll check it against the FreeCodeCamp Testing Suite so I know what needs to be changed/updated.

Looking forward to (hopefully!) getting my RWD certificate. I’m not sure how long it takes to get a response, but I hope things go smoothly. ^_^
