Jira exposes REST API and we need to make HTTP calls to interact with it, I‘m using brilliantly simple kttp library for this purpose. Complete projects sources are available at GitHub

First we need to create authorization object, use your Jira login and password:

  1. Install IntelliJ IDEA community edition (you may as well use any other IntelliJ IDE — PyCharm, Clion)
  2. Install Kafkalytic plugin: File->Settings->Plugins->Marketplace, type kafkalytic, press Install button.
  3. Configure Kafka cluster: View->Tool Windows->kafkalytic, press + button in the plugin window and enter your cluster properties:

4. Test connection, press OK for cluster to be added to registered cluster, open it, then navigate to topic you want to publish to and choose Copy topic messages to another in topic’s context menu:
