Big Picture Bigger Perspective
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” -Carl Jung
What would this planet be without humans? It serves as the only known planet capable of hosting intelligent life. Sadly, the intelligent often forget their most prized ability — which is the ability to reflect. The day to day demands often are allowed to become a central and numbing priority. Centrality should rest in our sense of purpose, in the context of the existence we have on earth, and in relation to the human family. Our activity should harmonize with that reality.
Priority can only be established when we have a sense of destination. Self reflection, introspection, and awareness of ourselves can greatly nudge us into honesty. Do we know where we are headed? We should. It’s possible.
If we make no effort in this direction no one can make it for us. We risk becoming numb to the greater blessings around us; incapable of fully appreciating the opportunity that we have been given.
Let’s make that extra effort of remembering with all honesty that we are part of something bigger than us, bigger than our fears, bigger than our apathy. Our lives matter.
Stay happy. Stay focused.
