$$$ MY GOD — IT’S EXPENSIVE $$$

Closing week 1 just about now. It’s been hectic with the scarce wifi, problems with the housing and visiting friends from day 1.

It’s expensive here atm!

It didn’t come as a surprise since I checked it up before coming here but the JPY is expensive at the moment!!! And that makes it quite expensive to live in Japan and Tokyo since the Japanese Currency, the Yen, has grew stronger since the Brexit. From 0.07220 March 31st to 0.08387 on October 7th. On October 12th 2015, only a year ago, the JPY stood in 0.06817 to the SEK — that’s up 23% in a year — 23%!! That’s 16,16% up since my last visit here and 23% up since last year. WHICH means that the a camera I could have bought for USD 1 000 in march would now cost me USD 1 230. Or that Onigiri I buy for lunch has gone from USD 1 to USD 1.23.

I don’t know if we could squeese this in under Murphy’s law — that anything that can possibly go wrong, does — but heck, do you see that curve? Do you see what the Brexit has made to my personal finances? It made my trip 16% more expensive and the reason is that after the Brexit investors who seeked haven for their money saw the JPY as benificary which made the currency grow stronger towards other currencys such as the Swedish one.

Feels legit to blame my overspending during week 1 on the Brexit and the strong JPY — 100% legit!

I don’t know if we should call this Murhpy’s law — anything that can possibly go wrong, does — but heck, do you see that curve? Do you see what the brexit did to my personal finances? After the Brexit investors who seeked haven for their money saw the JPY as benificary. Well that made my spending less benificary — and I was about to boost the Japanese economy (well, a microbit at least)
