Because I grew up in Beverly Hills. There were no fast food restaurants there. The first fast food I had was McDonald’s in Palo Alto, California. Then I think I had Jack in the Box and then Arby’s.

One of my daughters just read my story and said “Why, if you didn’t have junk food growing up and thought it wasn’t fair, did you insist that we ate only healthy, too?” Then she reminded me about the time that she got in trouble in elementary school for begging other kids for their cookies ;)
