Another occasional reason to want a DM system is that sometimes I will read something from someone with talent and potential but who is making errors that cast a shadow over their work. The editor in me doesn’t take much time off. When I see something like that, often from someone who might not have English as a first language or who has a limited education, it would be nice to be able to begin a dialogue that would not embarrass them.
Curious. I do not see an option for private messages on the right - or the left.

Somehow I missed this the first time, Rev. Fred Denial. I have used private notes to help edit many times. And I do it for the reason you mentioned.
