You’ve reminded me of when I was in high school, and the couple next door had a party. I was really bored with the guests’ conversations and made my way into the kitchen to talk with the cook and housekeeper. After the party when we were walking back to our house, my mother said, “Why in the world were you talking to the maid?” She said something else which I won’t repeat. I’ll never forget it.
