Nashik, the Pilgrim site and also the Wine capital of India.

Nashik is a city in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is well known for its pilgrim sites like Panchavati, Trimbakeshwar, Saptashringi, and Infant Jesus Shrine.People also know it as the wine capital of the country. This is on the extreme of another spectrum but this is how the city is and always has been.

Life in Nashik is slow in general. If you choose to do things fast here no one stops you. Things usually happen at their own pace over here. The weather is very good. During summers it is not very hot or it doesn't rain till it floods or the winters are cold and sometimes harsh but it does not snow or affects everyday work.

People generally are happy here and since it started out as a small town everyone knows everyone here. You will know a person through a friend here. You go to have tea, coffee, or Pizza you run into your old school, college, and tuition friends. People stand for 30 min and just talk about nothing really important because no one has a hurry to reach anywhere. Restaurants can be found open till 9 PM and on weekends till 11 PM so you can find families and friends always enjoying themselves.

There is a lot of mother nature around the city. If you drive for 15 minutes you start seeing fields then in another 30 minutes you reach the mountains and then you reach the rivers and the city limit. You can cycle or drive to these places.

You cannot forget the Misal over here. Weekends for most of the city revolve around this breakfast. People spend hours chatting over misal. Other than this the city is calm but vibrant in its own way.

I recommend anyone who wants to have a good weekend or a time away from the cities and concrete jungles should visit Nashik.
