4 Ways to Develop Self-Awareness — the Secret of Great Entrepreneurs
Gary Vaynerchuk believes that self-awareness is your most important attribute. And he believes that we all lie to ourselves — you, me, and himself included. Guess what happens when you stop self-betrayal. You’ll be unstoppable, loving, and caring.
What do you think is THE secret of the greatest entrepreneurs?
I discovered the secret …
… Reading 50+ autobiographies of successful entrepreneurs,
… Speaking to 20 and counting on my podcast, and
… Having countless interactions with entrepreneurs as a coach and speaker.
Take a moment and guess. What is it?
A great entrepreneur embraces a GROWTH MINDSET and so self-awareness.
It’s an almost childish curiosity to learn every day. His outlook on life, challenges, mistakes, and success is so different than to most people!
He works on himself and understands his worries, ambitions, cry for love and recognition.
He develops the courage to face his fears and find successful ways to overcome them.
Do You Know Yourself?
Gary Vaynerchuk believes that self-awareness is your most important attribute.
It allows you to recognize what things you do best so you can then go hard on those aspects of your life. It also helps you accept your weaknesses.
“I don’t fear being self-aware. I know that I suck at a lot of stuff. I think everyone lies to themselves.” — #AskGaryVee
StartupGeist Empowers YOU
What works for one person doesn’t work for everyone.
StartupGeist is NOT here to tell you what to do. StartupGeist empowers you to decide for yourself. What is best for you!
It provides recipes and options…
… because every entrepreneur is on its own journey.
You should never take anything for granted. Never ‘just’ follow stuff from others and blindly apply it — without finding your true self, your voice.
Unlock Your Voice
If you DON’T continually learn, and personally grow, you will fail.
Ask yourself regularly:
- What do I stand for?
- What are my values?
- What’s my purpose?
- What do I want to achieve in life?
Your Inner Rabbit Hole
“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” — Tony Robbins
For years, I’ve regularly been sitting down to answer these questions and it helped me to be more content, happy, and healthy because I know better who I am, when I need breaks, what my ideal day looks like etc. (hint: having a morning routine changes everything!)
Consider this a project. Don’t expect to find great answers in a day or two. Even if you do, challenge yourself later. At first, good-enough answers are ok. Over time, you’ll find deeper answers.
Develop the courage to go down your inner rabbit hole.
By deciding NOW to answer these questions regularly and schedule a time slot.
Tip: Open your calendar, NOW. Schedule a 30-minute block with yourself and copy and paste the questions above in there. Keep your answers in a journal. I prefer Evernote.
