Creativity: The Friend Who Always Calls but Never Answers

I’m going to quickly say, “creativity is a bitch.”

Any creative person knows what I’m talking about.

If not, let me hit you with a little bit of personification…

Creativity is a friend named, Jeff.

Jeff is a great guy… but Jeff is an asshole.

Jeff comes into your life at the oddest times… and when he does, life is marvelous.

He’s got this certain way about him that allows you to focus on what’s important.

You can never quite figure him out, but you trust his intentions.

Every time.

Jeff is great at showing you, with little to no effort, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.

And when Jeff shows up, he’s loud.

Really loud.

He’ll wake you up in the middle of your sleep, nagging you to get out of bed to come out and party.

And when you do, you always have a good time.

It’s hard to resist, Jeff.

After all, every time you and him hangout, you feel on top of the world.

The only problem is… when you want to hangout with Jeff, he could give two shit’s less.

In fact,

He won’t answer your calls. Won’t write back. Is never home…

It’s like he disappears from the face of the earth.

You suddenly feel lost, frustrated, and insecure.

You find yourself waiting like a lost puppy waiting for your owner to show up again.

It’s rough.

Jeff gives you the highest highs… and the lowest lows.

That’s why Jeff is an asshole.

And that is why creativity is a bitch.
