First sunrise of 2016
2016 kicked off with a sunny and clear morning in Seattle. I didn’t care that it was freezing outside. I wanted to see and feel the first sun of the new year.
The scene presented itself to me in the most perfect way possible. As I walked out onto our apartment’s roof deck, I saw the low fog glowing in front of Mt. Rainier. The orange morning sunlight illuminated the neighboring buildings in the Central District and created the perfect silhouettes of the church and the trees. The sun shone through steam billowing from a building. As I composed the shot, a seagull flew into frame.
Click. I got it.
