Hull KR sack head coach Chris Chester
After only gaining one point from their first three Super League matches, Hull Kingston Rovers have sacked their head coach Chris Chester.
Their 16–16 draw in the first round against Castleford Tigers is their only point so far, as the Hull side have lost their last two against Warrington and Wakefield.
Fans made their feelings known after the 14–12 home defeat to Wakefield on Sunday as they booed players off the pitch.
The club released a statement this morning which said: “Hull Kingston Rovers can confirm that Chris Chester has been stood down as head coach with immediate effect”.
Assistant coach Willie Poching will take over temporarily for the next home fixture against St. Helens.
Hull KR sit ninth in the Super League table so far and are still looking for their first win of the season.
