November NBA Awards

We are officially one month into the season so lets hand out the Awards for the Month starting from late October until right now.

MVP- Stephen Curry- Golden State Warriors

Look this is the easiest award to give out in the league to this point in the season. What hasn’t Curry done thus far? Scoring, he leads the league at 32.6 per game, average steals 2.5 per game, 6 assists and 5.1 rebounds a game for a team that is 17-0 to this point, after defeating Phoenix on Friday night. Take him away and really this team is a middle of the road team in the Western Conference.

2. LeBron James- Cleveland Cavaliers

3. Russell Westbrook- Oklahoma City Thunder

4. Paul George- Indiana Pacers

5. Kwahi Leonard- San Antonio Spurs

Defensive Player of the Hassan Whiteside- Miami Heat

If there a better difference maker on the defensive side of the ball in the NBA right now, I haven't found him yet. Whiteside just changes the game so much and forces teams to adjust to going against him. When he's on the floor, his defensive rating is 87.4 (number one in the NBA), his defensive plus/minus is 5.5 (tied for number one league) and defensive win shares is 1.3 (which is tied for number one). I don't think I need to say much more than that.

2. Kwahi Leonard- San Antonio Spurs

3. Andre Drummond- Detroit Pistons

4. DeAndre Jordan- Los Angeles Clippers

5. Tim Duncan- San Antonio Spurs
