Anonymous — the Huffington Post article is referring to the teacher pay-freeze that was instituted under Gov. Easley and continued under Perdue. That has since been lifted. But even under the pay freeze, you could obtain Masters Degrees and become a NBCT, all which offered pay increases. My wife also attends several different workshops throughout the year that pay between $100-$200 a day.
The WaPo article was written in ’15, and still no change has been made to my wife’s healthcare plan.
And finally, I believe what you found from WNCN did actually pass, because my wife got another raise this year.
