I volunteered with a non-profit for some years that wrote into its organizational bylaws that it dissolve after 50 years. The founder knew that then it would become too institutionalized.

Fifty years later, founder dead, the board rewrote the bylaws. Afraid to say, the founder had it right!

There’s a movement of thought that argues that the global Christian “Church” goes through a massive overhaul every 500 years and we are in one now.
