The IMDB page for The Sixth Sense suggests that Keith Wouldard and Nico Woulard are the actors portraying “hanged male” and “hanged child” — so, not all white actors. Just one white actress.

I always took that scene to be implying that the white woman and black man had been hanged for miscegenation in Revolution-era, racist Philadelphia.
