It was wrong of Esquire to bury the fact this article was satirical, but even more wrong to pull the whole thing because of the (real) Jeff Jarvis’s connections. Imagine a publication edited by Mr. Jarvis, being asked to remove a piece of satire he commissioned because a public figure objected to it and belonged to the same country club as his publisher. What do you suppose his reaction might have been?
If you are afraid the world can’t tell the difference between you and an extreme satirical version of you, maybe you need to reign things in a bit, eh?
