Art of Myth Blog Post #1 + Challenge

Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Malixi (I go by Danny) and I am excited to be remotely in this class with you all. I am a first-year at UWB, intending to major in Marketing with hopes to launch my own clothing brand one day. I come from a religious Filipino background so I took this class because it seemed interesting, and to learn about different ideas of similar matter.

Prior to this class, apart from my Christian faith, I have always believed myself to be superstitious; doing or not doing things in regards to a desired future outcome, knocking on wood, etc. So, upon hearing about the importance of the number ‘3’ in Western culture in addition to the given examples, I immediately related this to how I also knock 3 times — and strictly 3, never under or over for some reason — I was in awe and was immediately hooked in the class.

Creation Myths & Other Worlds Challenge

Here is a picture of a display in my home. I believe this item is proof of another world because it appeared out of nowhere and by how it looks. It is an unusual looking item with the most un-aesthetic green, almost resembling an underwater age. Its shape points out and creates a spherical space in the middle — perhaps maybe a portal to this other world.
