Pretty sure you could remove “programming language” from this, with a replacement of “any tool” and the same exact points apply. I’ve been party to a lot of “tool wars” and yes, it can be useful to debate, with good nature (please!), the merits of Tool A vs. Tool B, especially if the parties honestly identify their assumptions and start listing the plethora of trade-offs. Basecamp, for example, as a particular tool, vs. Tool XYZ, is one I’ve spent some time considering and debating. In the end, hats off to you if Tool DEF rocks your casbah. I’m enjoying being super-productive with mine.
