you’ll go on

you go on
in the light of dawn’s breaking
over rippled waters lapping at lands
you conquered and cherished
with capable hands
you go on
in the whispers of forests
trees certain, yet tousled by winds
you wakened and weathered
with wisdom to transcend
you do not end
as the horizon stretches around your edges
a golden glow kissing delicious pinks
and a song the earth plays on repeat
many moons beyond that final call
