While I completely agree with what you have said, part of the reason (in my mind) for such high ratings is the way that Netflix is consumed vs how mainstream shows are consumed.

With Netflix you need to seek out shows you want to watch, and are therefore more likely to leave a favourable review for a show you wanted to watch rather than a show you came across whole channel hopping?

I do still completely agree that Netflix has knocked it out of the park with their original productions, couldn’t do without them.
