I will support donating to down ballot tickets but not to helping Hillary. I don’t think my money should be going towards her in any way since she has wall street and big business. If there is a way to support only helping electing down ballots, I would donate. But I can’t in good faith support a Not-Trump movement that advocates against a person by elect another person I view as slightly less worse.
I also believe, as many political scientist have said, that under Hillary, our movement will be suppressed. I can’t in good faith support that happening. The same political scientist also say our movement would flourish under Trump. Which is appealing but seeing the racism of white Americans this last week, I can’t support anything that will intensify that hatred.
For myself, and I hope many others, I believe General Election efforts should be put towards supporting alternative party candidates in an effort to end our two party system. If either the Green party or Libertarian party get 5% of the popular vote, there are implications they will receive federal funding & give them a stronger standing in our political system. Currently, both Stein and Johnson are equally taking votes from both major candidates which means voters shouldn’t be concerned about about a Nader-like upset. For both Hillary & Trump, around 50% of their votes are to stop the other candidate. If voters are concerned about helping Trump win, find a Republican that is only voting for Trump to stop Hillary and make a pact to both vote 3rd party.
We also have to consider the effects Hillary as a democratic president will have on making Congress even more red. Right now, voters are less likely to vote for down ballot candidates who support Clinton. It’s important this movement distances itself from her so she doesn’t hurt our efforts to elect down ballot candidates.
Its important the campaign separates it’s efforts to elect down ballot candidates from electing Hillary, since many people will support the former and not latter.
