COM 320 Week 3 Chapter 3
I unfortunately missed this class due to an illness but I read the chapter anyway and learned about human relations and human resources approaches. The thing that caught my attention the most was the human relations approach the most because of the four different groups. The human relations approach contains four groups: illumination, relay assembly test room studies, interview program, and bank wiring room. The Hawthrone studies tested how changing work environment and how it affects the productivity. This testing results determined that productivity increases should be attributed to social factors, management style, and the Hawthrone effect. The Hawthrone effect is attention to individuals causes changes in behavior.
