Omotenashi” is a noun that means “to entertain guests wholeheartedly” and the verb for it is “motenasu”. Omotenashi is all about offering the best service without the expectation of a reward. You are abandoning your interest for the benefit of your guest or your customer.

O-kyaku-sama — the customer is royalty or honored guest

Kyaku-sama no Michi — way of the customer as honored guest

Otokui-san — preferred customer

o-machidō-sama “I am sorry to keep you waiting”
