Elias Tannous was born in a home in Valley Stream on Long Island N.Y., on July 22, 1982. Tannous musicality started out as a classical pianist at age 7 before picking up the guitar at age 16. Tannous practiced and studied the guitar while achieving his Bachelors Degree in business at Fairfield University in C.T. from the years 2000–2004.

While attending university he and his long time high school friend joined the group Chiba-Ken out of NYC in 2003 which would be his first Alternative/Hard Rock Band.

In those formative years Chiba-ken released three albums and one EP. Their sound was considered loud rock with a blend of music similar to Thursday‚ Deftones and System of a Down. Chiba-ken was notably recognized in the Long Islan music scene and were opening up for International acts such as‚ Glassjaw‚ Ill, Nino and even Iron Maiden in 2008.

The band moved in and lived together in what was dubbed as the Chiba-house‚ from 2006 onward. Chiba-ken signed to an Indie Label‚ Gotham Records and were regularly touring. In 2009 the band relocated to Hollywood, California. There…
