We are talking about Sargon the Great, the founder of the Akkadian Empire, the greatest power in Mesopotamia at that time. What did this great leader become famous for? To this day, scholars have not managed to come across traces of the capital from which the entire empire was named. Not many inscriptions have survived from the reign of its first ruler, but information about his rule is provided by ancient documents compiled in the Assyrian and Babylonian periods. In them, Sargon the Great is portrayed as an outstanding strategist and seasoned politician who, after coming to power, created one of the greatest powers of the ancient Near East.
