5 MISTAKES I MADE WHILE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT

3 years ago, I started my weight loss journey. It was indeed not the best experience at first because I was not given the proper information on how to lose weight. Instead of cutting down fat, I saw my self adding more weight without control. Please read carefully to avoid such mistakes in the future.

These are some mistakes I made while trying to lose weight.

1. Skipping breakfast

It is a known fact that most people try to cut down fat by skipping meals and breakfast is a really easy meal to skip. Back then, I would easily distract myself with morning chores before going to work and avoid eating breakfast. This is one of the biggest mistake I made because skipping breakfast prompted me to eat more at lunch times and gained more weight. And calories you take in at breakfast are easily burnt throughout the day.

2. I was embarrassed to go to the gym

Self love is one attribute most overweight people struggle with. I know this because I’ve been a victim. I was always worried that people will see my body and make jest of me because I was too fat so I refused to visit the gym. Now I hit the gym regularly and I absolutely love it.

3. Embracing Stress

This sounds awkward but I was really stressing myself at work just to lose weight. I believed the more I stressed myself out the more I lose weight but the reverse was the case. You should never try to embrace stress if you really want to lose weight.

4. Wrong Mindset

Whether you are starting a new business, career or trying to cut down fat, mindset is very important. After trying some weight loss remedies I found online I was really depressed and thought I’d always be fat until I found the best weight loss solution (details will be described later).

5. Lack of sleep

Sleep has numerous health benefits and bad sleeping habits can really make u gain weight fast. People who sleep more are able to process carbs more than those that sleep less. So it is very important to have a good night sleep for at least 8 hours if you want to lose weight.

The internet itself is full of so much information and believe me I tried them all. I would starve myself , try different health products and drinks but to no avail. I was weighing over 270 pounds back then and after all those remedies I was still adding weight.

I think the worst experience you can face is not having to love the way you look and not being able to go out with friends and family to have fun at the beach just because you don’t like your body. (It drastically killed my self confidence).
