A Look Back At My 2015 Interview With William Shatner — “Paltrocast” Exclusive
It has been almost 60 years since William Shatner first appeared as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, yet William Shatner remains one of the most recognizable entertainers all these decades later. Beyond starring in hit shows like Boston Legal, Weird Or What? and T.J. Hooker, he has established himself as a director, producer, author, host and investor, among other titles. He has also managed to find the time and resources to act as a philanthropist, being very involved with Habitat For Humanity, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Priceline.com Hollywood Charity Horse Show.
Back in 2015, prior to some New York area Shatner’s World gigs scheduled for January 2016, I had the pleasure of speaking with William Shatner by telephone. That conversation was originally published by Downtown Magazine NYC. Ultimately, I came away from that phone conversation inspired and in awe that a person already so established is still trying new things.
Since that conversation, notably starred in the network series Better Late Than Never, did voiceover work on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, appeared on The Masked Singer, and both hosted and executive produced The UnXplained on History. He was a WWE Hall Of Fame inductee in 2020 and the recipient of the ASHA C.J Cronan Sportsmanship Award in 2021…
