Perception is Everything, Perception is Reality

Everything you see or hear or experience is any way at all is specific to you. You create a universe by perceiving it so everything in universe you perceive is specific to you.-Douglas Adams

Art scholars suggest that drawing is a skill that can be learned or acquired by anyone. They have concluded that what separates some of us from are artsy friends is the inability to see the world for what it really is and the lack of visual memory. This notion supports the idea that anyone can learn how to draw better with visual memory practices. I believe this truth can be applied to life. Your life. You create your reality, what you believe will manifest.

If you are anything like the person I used to be you do not draw well. You do not do life well. The problem is with your perception. Living a lackluster life is the result of seeing life as a competition or through the lens of what’s your experiencing right now. If you look around and take inventory of the things happening in your life right now and your not satisfied, change it. Paint a new vibrant visual of where, who and what you want to be and these things will project themselves into your reality.

Step One: seeing the world for what it really is

Improving your visual memory is essential to learning to draw better. When you put your pencil to paper your mind should remind you that neither trees or faces are flat, these object have depth and dimensions. This same idea apples to life. When you wake up each morning your mind should remind you that life is not a destination. You are not limited to the space your in right now, instead your mind should remind you that life is truly a journey filled with endless opportunities. But the only way to seize opportunity is to open your eyes to see it.
