At the end of the second semester, our curator Timur Burbaev invited the group to participate in a design hackathon “days of industrial design” in SKOLKOVO. We have assembled a team of six people who agreed to participate in the competition of the industrial designers. Three days later a design hackathon We worked to create a spectrometer. Problems of the existing spectrometer: high cost of production; difficult access to the internal parts; any external influence affects the accuracy of the measurement; traumatic acute angles; not memorable appearance;

We solved these problems and offered the customer a few ideas:

In the end, we won in our chosen category. But not won the competition as a whole. We’re not upset, because we had good competitors from the British school of design and Institute named after Stroganov.
As a prize we were invited to the training. In the “factory of industrial design” (it is a centre of expertise in the field of industrial design, engineering and prototyping). Now we are working to create a simultaneous interpreter.

I used to be afraid to participate in competitions, but it is a rewarding experience and the opportunity to win an internship.
