Introduction

AI was one of the most fast growing fields in the previous decade, and is sure to grow even further in the ’20s. Along with growth in the field, events focussed on the research & tech behind AI are also increasing.

In this article, we’ll list out some of the best AI & Data Science related events, conferences and meetups coming up this year.

1. TensorFlow Dev Summit

First in the list is TensorFlow Dev Summit. It’s a two day-long event in Sunnyvale, CA (also livestreamed online) where a highly diverse group of developers come from around the world for highly technical talks, interactive demos, and conversations with the TensorFlow team and community.

Throughout the event, in-person attendees can participate by attending sessions, viewing demos, visiting the sandbox, getting hands-on experience with codelabs, and chatting with the TensorFlow team and community.

2. O’Reilly Strata Data & AI Conference

The O’Reilly media company holds an AI conference multiple times a year in various locations. Designed as a conference which brings AI & data technology in one place, this conference brings interactive sessions for the tech enthusiasts, and strategy related briefings for the data & AI strategists.

3. AWS Innovate — ML

AWS Innovate is a completely online conference that you don’t want to miss. Hosting keynotes be dignitaries like Glenn Gore, Chief Architect at AWS and Dean Samuels, Lead Architect at AWS, the conference wants to bring you up to date with the latest tech in AI and Machine Learning.

In total, 20+ sessions will be delivered across 6 tracks, exploring key concepts, use cases and best practices to learn how other organizations use AI & Machine Learning to improve the quality of healthcare, fight human trafficking, and provide better service to their customers.

4. Global Women in Data Science Conference

The Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Initiative is a one-day technical conference which happens once a year in Stanford University, with 150+ regional events happening worldwide at the same time. The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.

5. Women in Analytics Conference

The Women in Analytics Conference is a conference featuring women, open to everyone. Their mission is to increase visibility to the women making an impact in the analytics space and provide a platform for women to lead the conversations around the advancements of analytical research, development, and applications.

The speaker line-up is the only aspect of the conference that is reserved exclusively for women (using an inclusive definition), while all other aspects of the conference are open to everyone. The conference is generally focussed on more higher level discussions on Data Science like ethics, user experience, maturity & platform adoption.

6. Think 2020

think2020 is an annual conference by IBM on business and technology. According to its description, you can acquire hands-on experience with the latest advancements in open technologies from cloud to data and AI — and then meet the luminaries who are using them to transform our lives. Unlike a single conference for 1000’s of people, it’s 1000’s of conferences in a single conference.

7. Martech (Marketing Tech) Conference

The Martech summit is a conference held in multiple countries throughout the year which brings a convergence between Marketing & Tech. It focusses on the innovations in Data Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, Automation and the use of chatbots to enhance customer experience. The summit tries to answer the following questions:

  1. How will MarTech help a team tackle complexities in a digital world?
  2. What to consider when prioritizing new technologies & planning a MarTech roadmap?
  3. How does one guarantee a seamless customer experience?

8. Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS)

NIPS is one of the best research conferences in AI. The purpose of the Neural Information Processing Systems annual meeting is to foster the exchange of research on neural information processing systems in their biological, technological, mathematical, and theoretical aspects. The core focus is peer-reviewed novel research which is presented and discussed in the general session, along with invited talks by leaders in their field.

It involves expos where top industry sponsors give talks, panels, demos, and workshops on topics that are of academic interest, and tutorials which cover a broad range of topics.

9. IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition

CVPR (Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition) is an annual computer vision event held by IEEE comprising a main conference and several co-located workshops and short courses. With its high quality and low cost, it provides an exceptional value for students, academics and industry researchers.

CVPR considers a wide range of topics related to computer vision and pattern recognition — basically any topic that is extracting structures or answers from images or video or applying mathematical methods to data to extract or recognize patterns.

10. Rework Deep Learning Summit 2020
