Craigslist Making Over $1M Per Day In Job Ad Revenue
The site that everyone has predicted the death of for over a decade is expected to bank nearly $400m in paid job ad revenue across 11,709,490 job postings in 2016.
All of this with only 30 employees.
To put this in perspective Monster Worldwide has over 4,000 employees and only reported $666.9 million for the 12 months ended December 31, 2015 compared to $725.6 million in the same period last year, a 4% decrease. GAAP net income from continuing operations was only $13.2 million.
Over the past 12 months Craigslist has gradually increased the number of cities that you have to pay to post a job in with the current number standing at 146 cities in the US and Vancouver in Canada. Cost ranges from $75.00 down to $15.00 per job posting. All other cities and countries are free to post in.
San Francisco Bay Area is the most expensive city to post in and also the most popular with an average of 11,504 jobs posted each week at a cost of $75.00 for an average yearly revenue of $45m for just this one city.

This data was compiled by collating the number of jobs posted per day in every paid Craigslist city. For example https://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/jjj?postedToday=1 will show all jobs posted in the San Francisco Bay Area in the past 24 hours. Weekend volume is about 25% of a typical weekday. Data on free cities was captured but is not included in this analysis.
