What is Datalatte.ai?
Our goal is to empower internet users to monetize their data and provide data scientists with access to users data at an affordable price by building a decentralized data store. The user can choose to sell his data in place of having his data sold by big corporations.
Why do we need a new approach ?
Traditional applications harvest the data of their consumers and transfer it to other companies that use it for various reasons mostly not known by the user that signed up for it. The users and therefore data producers receive no compensation for their digital labor and have no idea of the value of the data they produce. This has led to the rise of big megacorporations which receive the bulk of data and have formed monopolies around them, influencing our daily lives in a way not known to most.
Meanwhile scientists try to find data to build algorithms that can help us find jobs, provide the right healthcare at the right time and find the best way to educate our children. Most of the researchers but also small and medium sized companies (those providing the most jobs in an economy) starve for data to build their predictive models.
What has changed ?
Since 2018, the general data protection regulation (GDPR) in countries within the EER gives us data producers the right to access their personal data on each platform. Nevertheless most of us don't know about our right to access this data and the value attached to it.
Many things have changed in the digital space as well. We have our first completely decentralized currencies, applications and exchanges. Using this we can bridge big corporations and put the money where it belongs, with the people producing the data.
Our solution
We are building a decentralized application (dAPP) that is connected to a decentralized marketplace. This means there is no central institution that controls your data and you can choose to whom you sell your data at which price.
How is this supposed to work ?
Everyone will be able to download our dAPP from his local store on his phone or directly access via our website. With a couple of clicks our customers can choose which platform they want to connect and which data they want to sell.
Every customer can choose whether they want to sell the complete datasets or only give away non identifiable data. It is up to the customer to give permission in each and every step of this process. Permission can of course be revoked later in the process as well.
The customers will be supported by their personal AI agent which works as an advisor and databroker, providing our customer with the right price.
We make use of advanced blockchain technology creating this permissionless marketplace on top of the Ocean protocoll.
How do data scientists benefit?
If you are a potential customer you will be able to easily access the data marketplace from your local computer. Connecting your wallet you can choose to download complete datasets or use the advanced and trusted compute-to-data algorithms which perform analysis on datasets for you in a decentralized manner. You benefit from access to data which is not available to most data scientists at this moment. This is giving you the opportunity to do the research you want to do and to help the company you work for achieve better results. You can harness the insights of data without doing calculations by yourself in a matter of seconds. If you choose to contribute you can help build machine learning algorithms and have them executed receiving money if they are supported and trusted by other customers.
