I actually took the time to sign up for the silly Medium comment system *just* to say that this is a ridiculously poor decision. I *am* a paid user, and even I feel that this is a poor choice. Visitors was a useful function for gauging interest and it was just plain *interesting*.

Are you really going to go down the route of reducing features until we’re basically looking at Tinder with a slightly better matching algorithm? Or has someone just figured that if Apple can remove a headphone jack and keeping making money, we should be stripping out things people want too?

The feedback is overwhelmingly negative and to be perfectly blunt, I’ll likely stop being a paid customer if this is the way things will go. As someone who works at a software company, listening to your users and A/B testing is critical to growth. The guise of this being for the good of the customer is laughable and I highly doubt it’ll actually improve conversion to paid users. I’d suggest rethinking this one.
