Standing Behind the Waterfall

I once took a sabbatical from the IT industry to paint. It was a river that ran through the centre of a valley 10 years wide. It marked my lowest point in a decade, rock bottom where the ground water settles. When all is stripped away and you can find a waterfall in an underground cave you can emerge a new being. It didn’t give me what I thought it would but it taught me to survive in the desert, made me appreciate what is important and detest what is not but above all it taught me that the only starving artist is the one who hungers to create and doesn’t.
