I spent 10 years rewriting a mainframe language to run on Intel processors. Green screens were replaced by web services in the process. When I emerged from the trenches and returned to the normal food chain of IT employment, after a yearlong sabbatical, AngularJS had shown up. I quietly puked in my mouth. By the time I had finished inserting a layer of abstraction that layer had already been abstracted.
