Hey Logan Yang,

Thanks for your comment! From my perspective, the big data hype ended much last year. In terms of sign, I would say that there are many factors e.g. clients stop asking me about big data but replaced it with AI like how they can use AI to solve their problem. Another dimension is also the number of articles in this area. You don’t see that much publications about Spark or Hadoop anymore. If you think about this 2–3 years ago, everything was revolving around this.

In terms of your argument around the hype on AI, I don’t disagree with it;) It was intentional for me to use it to communicate my message. At the end of the day, I wanted to convey that we should focus on doing realistic stuff that it’s going to change the world instead of focusing on hypes or stuff that is unrealistic. As you said machine learning is gradually transforming a lot of disciplines and it is just a beginning. I agree with it and I’m happy to be part of this transformation!
