I think another elephant is that collaboration works better than isolation, yet many teachers are working alone.

It seems to me that too often ‘collaboration’ is something done ‘to’ students. We value it, teach strategies to be effective at it, but don’t practice and model it ourselves enough. There is incredible potential to move things forward faster if classroom teachers collaborate, iterate, and learn from each other in an environment where others are supportive, and sharing their learning.

Networked collaboration by educators can greatly enhance the learning and modeling of innovative practices that we would not be exposed to without collaboration.
