Welcome to #TeamDaugherty

This week we have the opportunity to meet Dattatray Joshi! When I say that he is a new face in the Chicago branch, I am not kidding! Monday was his first day as an official member of Team Daugherty. Let’s get to know a bit more about Chicago’s newest consultant.

Dattatray — he goes by Datta for short — grew up in a small city in India called Kolhapur. You may have heard of his hometown as it is well-known for a few different things, such as chappals (leather slippers), wrestling and spicy cuisine. Datta stayed close to home and attended Shivaji University, earning his bachelor’s degree in production engineering. During his studies he became intrigued by computer science and began looking into a possible information technology career. This interest led him to the decision to continue his education after graduation. He began attending the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in Pune, India. After six months he earned a post graduate diploma from this program.

Since graduating, Datta has spent the last fourteen years working in the field of information technology. He has worked in a number of different roles including technology architect, technical lead, delivery manager and test automation lead. Despite his title, his primary goal in every role he has held has been designing and delivering high performing and scalable solutions to business problems, system modernizations and system integrations.

In his spare time, Datta enjoys getting outdoors with his six-year-old son. The duo love to play cricket and soccer together. He also enjoys exploring Chicago and doing some landscape photography. In fact, if you were to ask Datta what he likes the most about the city of Chicago he would tell you that he is fascinated by the rich architecture.

Interested in getting to know a bit more about Datta? Find him in the halls of Daugherty’s Windy City branch. Datta is multilingual and can read, speak and write in five languages (English, Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit and Japanese) so no matter what language you feeling like using, you can bet he would love to have a chat and get to know his new Daugherty teammates!
