Why I think glyphosate is poisoning our food supply.

I am a simple layman and am only hypothesizing based on recent information I have come across.

Glyphosate does not affect human cells and is understood to be completely harmless to mammals and plants which have been engineered to be “RoundUp Ready”. However, this has not taken into account the bacteria in our gut, in a recent scientific study it was found that glyphosate does kill bacteria in the gut.

Supposedly, the amounts of glyphosate are extremely diluted but we are potentially exposed to it in most every thing the industrial food system produces. RoundUp Ready corn and soybeans, and wheat which is sprayed with glyphosate right before it’s harvested is the base to which most everything is produced. For example, cows are finished on this corn, which would clear out of there system in ten days, this clearing doesn’t happen. Glyphosate is even been found in our beers, which to me leads me to believe that this stuff is persistent.

So, even though we may be only getting micro doses at a time this leads me to believe that it is possible to accumulate enough glyphosate in our systems to kill off valuable gut microbes, to be replaced with who knows what. This is one of a few other factors why obesity and auto-immune diseases have become so prevalent.

This is another reason why diets like the Paleo diet are so successful.

To avoid glyphosate in your diet may prove to be an expensive and daunting task. Sourcing your food from trusted sources is the best place to start, even growing as much of your own food would help a lot in this matter. Obtaining grass fed beef, pastured chicken fed organic grains (though verifying this could be difficult to verify) and pastured pork. Eliminating all boxed processed foods will most likely be necessary as well. I would venture to guess that glyphosate is going to be found in high fructose corn syrup, this is going to be in a lot of stuff, especially soda drinks. Probably just chucking the entire industrial food system is the only way to go here.
