Your Life Sucks Because You Suck

There’s no doubt that life will have it’s ups and downs. It doesn’t matter where you come from, who your parents are, what color you are, or whether or not you’ve got a penis(or don’t have one(or have neither)) life can sometimes feel like it’s getting the best of you and you have no control over anything.

I’ve been there(still kind of am). I was(sometimes still am) feeling lost, sad, confused on what direction to go. It’s easy to blame it on your circumstances, blame the cards you’ve been dealt, and try to wait it out till you’re dealt a better hand. The only thing you’re doing when you’re waiting, is bullshitting yourself.

When it comes to living a happy, balanced life, there isn’t and wont ever be a single correct path to take. Life is full of variables, like I mentioned earlier, but if you’re feeling stuck, if you’re feel sorry for yourself, maybe it’s time to admit to yourself that the reason you’ve not getting anywhere in life is because you’re not GOING anywhere.

When you’re in a rut, it’s easy to just dig yourself deeper and deeper into a hole. Something that’s helped me get a grip on my life is a constant reminder that you need to make your own luck.

That means no more sleeping in, no more pushing off applying to jobs, no more telling yourself you’ll go back to school next semester. It means admitting to yourself that you’ve put yourself in this situation and the only way to get out of it, is to start working your ass off, develop some disciple, and get your head out of your ass.

“Something that’s helped me get a grip on my life is a constant reminder that you need to make your own luck.”

Get off your high horse. NO ONE gives a shit if you once owned a successful company and the only reason it died is because you got fucked over once or twice. NO ONE gives a shit that you’re out of shape because you’ve got a bum knee and you’re avoiding rehabbing it because it takes so long to stretch. NO ONE cares if you’re broke because you fucked up while applying for student loans didn’t do as much research as you should have and screwed yourself with an incredibly high interest rate.

If you want to get back on top of your life, and start enjoying your days again, then you need to WORK. It’s going to suck for a while. It’s going to be painful, and tough, and you’re going to relapse and fail again. And probably again after that. Maybe once more, it’s impossible to know. You need to forget about that, forget about the time it’ll take to get back to happy, forget all the reasons that will try to hold you back.

Life can be an incredible experience, full of days that make you smile, cry, laugh, and want to scream. That’s the joy of it all. No one really knows why we’re here, what we’re suppose to do with our lives, what our real purpose is, and that’s okay. Get over it, get over yourself, and start working your ass off.

Improve every day. It’s okay if you suck now, because everyone, even the professionals, once sucked at what they do.
