Look around you. What do you see? I’ll tell you what you see. You see the products of corporations. Computers, phones, windows, lights, concrete, steel, aluminum, furniture, walls, buildings, roadways, electrical grids, pipelines, infrastructure galore. Every bit of what you see was probably produced by a corporation. Corporations that paid a slave-wage to their workers — those people who actually designed, and labored and built what you see. A slave-wage is this: the bare minimum a corporation can pay someone to do a job. And nothing more.
Now, the profits of all that that production that you see around you; to whom did it go? To the slave-wage worker? No. It went to the capitalists who “claim” they were owned the returns.
There is your problem. There is your inequality. There is your so-called need for a UBI.
The U.S. Government allowed corporations to take the profits from the hard work of its citizens and squander it into WallStreet accounts meant for only the wealthy.
If you can convince WallStreet. If you can convince America’s aristocrats. If you can convince the United States Government that this is wrong — then you can get your UBI paid for.
Until then? Forget about it. It ain’t gonna happen.
